Hideeeee from Central Texas!

Well, the snow finally stopped -- yep, I said snow! Who'd a thunk it in
central Texas? Oh, well, maybe Al Gore caused it so he could say it was
"global warming!" Yeah, right!

I, personally, am very glad February's over! For some reason that's the
"grayest" month in the whole year as far as I'm concerned -- always
has been and always will be. Guess it's 'cause nothing excitin's ever
happened to me in the month of February as long as I can remember.
This particular February was mostly spent mopping floors because of
muddy Cocker Spaniel feet. Yeah, that's a real barn burner, huh?

I've been watching the great Healthcare mess cookin' on Bama's front
burner and don't see that it's gettin' any better but will sure get worse
if he finds enough idiots to vote FOR it. One thing's for damned sure:  I
wouldn't buy a used car from any of those suckers that represent us in
Washington (and I'll take bets on the fact that a bunch of them are
gonna be in the unemployment lines with the rest of us come November
elections!)

Had an email this week that suggested one way out of the  healthcare
mess would be to just declare that all the idiots in Washington have to
accept the same healthcare they're trying to force on all of us. Kinda
made sense to me -- and you can bet your fanny they'd decide that
"well, maybe we do need to go back to square one and start over!"

If it's good enough for us it should be good enough for those that work
for us and for the government. Those folks should have to live on the
same "money scale" the rest of us do, too -- and not draw those huge
retirement checks when they decide they've done their part. If Social
Security's good enough for the general public (that pay taxes contrary to
some of Bama's cabinet members) then those guys oughta think it's just
hunky dory for themselves, too!

Also noticed that the Supreme Court is making another "gun" decision.
Suits me -- I'm gonna keep mine and those folks can pass anything they
choose -- and for a fact, I know there's a lot of other Texans that feel
the same way. Vermont is considering a law that would fine folks $500 a
head if they DON'T own a gun. Seems their State Constitution says that
folks are supposed to own firearms in order to protect the state and if
they don't -- well, that's agin' the law up there!

I kinda like that idea and tipped my old Stetson to Vermont. Folks that
can't protect themselves and their families have either got to run to a
neighbor that owns a gun to protect them in a dangerous situation or find
a policeman with a gun and seems to me grown persons should be
responsible for taking care of themselves as much as they can.

That's probably just my outdated Texanese coming forth but it's a fact
on my list of "necessaries." Well, seems I ranted and railed a bit here
this week but when all you see on television or hear on the news is liberal
junk -- it'll wear on the nerves a bit. Really, it doesn't wear on my
nerves at all -- it makes me mad as hell that I've lived this long to see
my country sent to hell in a hand basket by a group of folks that couldn't
hit themselves in the fanny with both hands -- no common sense at all.
Anyhoooo... I'll quit carryin' on and see y'all next week -- now, that
wasn't all that bad; was it?

feel free to disagree all you want - we'll post that - but personal

Just a head's up -- I'm now writing for a new website called
"Southern
Sassafras !  The site is about everything Southern (and how good is
that?) and debuted in February so it's up a running.  There'll be several
of us writing for the site on a multitude of subjects. I'll be doing a
Texas humor column and a social/political comments column. That last one
ought to draw a little fire, huh? Dear hearts, y'all know I'm not
opinionated or anything like that!

Hope y'all are stayin' warm, dry and havin' fun!
Tell your mama 'n 'em "hidee from Texas!"
Let us know if anybody's gettin' any eggs!
